Sunderland 1 Bolton 4 - a git massive reaction from me!

I'm not going to go over the match. If you care enough to be bothering to read this, you'll care enough to already know what happened.

Before I start talking about Keane (and this blog is basically just going to be about the man, as every other discussion about the club at the moment revolves around him)just a quick word about the 'supporters' who booed Dean Whitehead during the match.

You are a complete bunch of mongs, and if the SoL was never graced with your presence again, then it would make this devastating defeat a great deal easier to take.

Sunderland 0 - West Ham 1

Bloody hell man, what a disapointment. I was saying to my mates before the match that everyone was far too confident for my liking, and that we'd probably slip up.

But if I'm honest in my heart of heart I still expected a victory, not a defeat which wipes out the memory of last weeks excellent result at Blackburn.

Yes there was some bad refereeing decisions, but seriously man, the second half we were hopeless.

Sunderland 1 Arsenal 1

arghhhhh!!!! If any game ever sums up the range of feelings a football match can bring, it is this one.

At 4.38 yesterday, with Arsenal pressing us back at 0-0, I would have killed to get the point against them, and give ourselves a very proud pat on the back.

Ten minutes or so later, we have our point, and I'm left feeling gutted and deflated and a thousand over words all meaning precisely the same thing.

Wigan 1 Sunderland 1

This match was a weird one in that beforehand, a point would have been regarded as a decent result, but due to the circumstances you couldn't help feel disapointed.

My memory of the match is a little hazy, have had one too many snakebites pre-kick off, but I can remember that first half we were canny, and second we seemed to drop as deep as deep can be, and invite Wigan onto us.

We took the lead through everyone's favourite knacker, Titus Bramble, whose screaming near post header from Steed's cross in was hilarious.

Sunderland 0 - Man City 3

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. That really wasn't very good.

It's went from all optimism last week, to all pessimism tonight after a truly shambolic display.

Were to start? It's hard to say really - there is so many things to criticise, it actually hurts.

Forest away in the Beer Cup

Well, unless you count meaningless pre-season friendlies (and if you do, well, your daft) Roy Keane rolls up to the his fromer home, The City Ground, for the first time as a manager hoping to win his first cup game with us, and get his first cup goals too.

We are supposed to be putting out a strong side, but with some tinkering, so expect to see the likes of Healy and Dwight Yorke get a run out alongside some more of the first team regulars.

Spurs 1 Sunderland 2 - GET IN THERE

After spending all the build up to the match insisting we would definately lose, because we always lose at Spurs, it turns out I know absolutely nothing about football as we pulled off an absolute cracker of a win.

I couldn't make the match but wathced the full highlights on Sky, and listened on the radio at work. What a stunning result from us, some really great stuff.

It took us seven months to win on the road last season, and to get off the mark after only one match this season is ideal, and stands us in good stead for next weeks visit of Man City.

Big Match Preview - the Lads at Spurs

Well, I said last week that we were desperate for a striker, and I'm going to credit myself with giving Roy Keane the impetus to go out and buy two of them.

David Healy is no more than a squad signing - he should do canny coming off the bench here and there, and is probably a little better than the player he is most often compared with (Chopra, who might just be on his way now).

But Cisse is an astonishingly good signing, even if it is only a loan. It's a big coup for us, and he is approximately twice as good as all our fit strikers, so will help improve the squad massively. He has been given his clearance for the Spurs match, and hopefully will start up front and give us an impetus.

If anybody, anywhere, needs a striker, it's us

Well, we were back today, at a ridiculously late kick off time (seriously, there's nothing worse than having no half-time scores to listen to), and in all honesty, we weren't too bad.

First half, we knocked it about very well with our new-look midfield, and the quality level at times reached heights it never did last season. Malbranque in particular looked class, and new captain Andy Reid looked a fair bit sharper than he did last season.

But we really lacked a striker to finish anything off - Murphy was a willing runner, but isn't a lone frontman and wasted our best chance.

Looking forward to the new season

Not long to go now.

Sadly, for all it's been an exciting pre-season (for the first time in ages we've signed players worth getting all worked up about), you get the feeling looking at our first two games that we could get absolutely nothing.

Liverpool at home is a game we always seem to lose, and is a fixture we have only one once (strangely enough in our 19 point) in donkey's years, while Spurs away is a game we always lose (we've lost our last 8 matches there).
