You can go on asking for a cut in Fuel Tax
until you are blue in the face. Mr. Brown
and his Government will only sit up and listen
by everybody sticking together and going on
strike, as action always speak louder than
words.

Prices for fuel are outrages, We spend more money on tax, vat on everythin we do than any where else in the world, how can Gordon brown justify 1.159p per litre of petrol in the uk when in countrys like dubai its less than 30p a litre, I say Keep britin Movin and remove the tax!!!

Whilst I agree that we all need to think about how much fuel we use the increases we have seen since last Autumn are crippling and relentless. Last year when petrol hit £1 we were all horrified but it soon came back down. This time it just seems to keep going up and up every few days by yet another 2p a litre. It must be 30 or 40% more expensive than a year ago and food and domestic fuel is going up but we are told to keep wage claims down to 2% or so. Last year in the health service a 2.1% increase was staged - just over 1% in April and the rest in November!! Works out at a lot less than 2% over the year.

With oil prices spiralling, immediate effort should be done and one of it to reduce the govt. tax intake.

We should all take a stand ourselves and not buy from the biggest price driver company.
Join the resistance!!!!
We are going to hit £1.20 a litre and it might go higher!! Want petrol
prices to come down?
We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just
laughed at the strike because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt'
ourselves by the strike. It was more of an inconvenience to
us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea,
has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join
with us!
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to
think that the cost of a litre of petrol is CHEAP at £1.16, we need to
take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace...not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to
take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we
hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their petrol! And, we
can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol.
But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to
force a price war.
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol
from the biggest price up Driver Company.
If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce
their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have
to follow suit.

Lower what tax we pay for fuel.

Gordon Brown should start to look seriously at what his government has done for the average working family. Everything has gone up in price, yet what extra income are we getting to compensate for this? Working for local government also now means that he is going to stop pay rises so again more restrictions on income.
come on Gordon, open you eyes and see what damage you have done since you took over.

If the goverment keep putting the price of fuel up they will kill this country. We pay the highest amount for our fuel then anyone else and the goverment tax it far to much. It's know wounder that everyone want to get out. When i was over in New York they put there fuel up by 5 cents a gallon and the whole plac come to a stop until it was put back down which the goverment did within 6 hours so why do our lot have to be so greedy with the taxes. We should stop the hand outs that all the spoungers get and that will bring taxes down, so get your finger out Mr Brown and bring the cost of fuel down.

we are being taxed to death, even after death... with the cost of fuel, electric, council tax etc
all the money we earn is going.. i learnt to drive a few yrs ago as i live in a village where the bus comes every 2 hours (and sometimes not at all) so i could get to college which was 15 miles away i work part time around studying just for fuel and food, my food bill for a week is around 40 pounds which considering i am alone and am only buying the basics such as bread eggs etc it is ridiculous i am eating beans on toast and pasta most days and fruit is a rare luxery!!!
my electric is 90 pounds a month and im hardly at home and i use a hot water bottle instead of using my heating..
i think the gov needs to sort this country out reduce taxes not just on fuel but the million other things they tax us on.. they need to stop giving benefits to scroungers (immigrants and the british) and this will give them extra money!! and help those families that actually want to go out and work, what would they do if everyone started claiming and nobody worked!!
they need to do something otherwise this country is going to head into a big recession.
i know people keep saying we need to do something but no one is actually doing anything..
i cant wait till i finish university so i can leave this country i dont want to bring up my children here!!!

Petrol Prices
Why is it so high in the UK?
Why is Diesel higher than petrol in the UK.
We are paying the highest price in the world for petrol and diesel and on top of that we pay road tax.
Other countries have the road tax included in the fuel price.
We are being ripped of by these taxes

I'm on the min.wage = £214 a week.
Before I could fill my car for around £23 (11% of my weekly wage). Now it costs £54 (25% of my weekly wage). I just CANNOT afford this - I've also got 2 children to look after!
To make matters worse because of the fuel rise it means that shops deliveries cost more so the prices in shops for food etc. have risen.
I'm always asking my parents for help - It was never like that! I'm 29 but I feel just like a kid again constantly asking my mum and dad if they could help.
I hope fuel prices fall I'm really struggling to pay this.

There should be a Fuel Price Cut,this is just profiteering not only by the Government but Garages also, why is it that even when the Price of Oil comes down, we don't see it at the Pumps, and there always seems to be another {Crisis} somewhere in the World that conveniantly keeps the price up at the Pump's why is the rest of Europe not affected like the UK. I thought we was part of Europe.

The tax on fuel should be reduced. Our fuel is the most expensive in the western world.

It's a fact you can get fuel for a fraction of a penny!
You can get fuel at 2.5 pence a gallon: Also see below where you can get fuel for your Diesel and Petrol engine costing as little as a fraction of a penny a litre
Kenneth Clarke sees hope in two years time, but then he does sell cigarettes and the cigarette companies at one stage sold the idea that they were healthy while threatening there concerned researchers. Not one of the many reports that I have read including a recent Intelligence advisor offer such hope. The price of fuel in America is predicted to hit $15.00 a barrel because the wells are not only running dry but the producer nations are using more and more of it themselves. Down in Venezuela is being sold at 2.5 pence a gallon. Its about a 4,000 mile trip. But besides this ray of hope the fact is that according to many oil insiders who care not a fig about politicians soothing words, we have a cataclysm (their words not mine) in the making. Unless the West does something our economies will collapse. The MP's are running around like headless chickens when my non existent dog knows that HHO gas is the immediate and only answer. But they are probably holding high level discussions with the vested interests who want to make the most out of the present situation. Those who want transport and need to save a fortune in their business refer to www.tfuelcell.co.uk. This site will give you all you need to know about fuel cells. Remember this "There is nothing more powerful than an idea who’s time has come, Fuel cells is that long suppressed idea”. Get fuel cells onto your vehicles as they tick all the boxes. The fuel is created from ordinary water where up to 8,000 litres of HHO gas is stored in I litre of water and reverts to water after burning - so it produces no pollution.

Fuel Tax must be cut by 40% or this country will be brought to its knees by rising debt. If politicians believe that the people in the UK will just sit back and accept a huge rise in the cost of all commodities brought on by the hike in fuel prices, then they are totally disillusioned.
Both Labour and Tories take heed, we have taken enough of the ******** and greed from MP's. SORT THIS OUT NOW

Petrol is a rip off the petrol stations put up prices hourly so are selling the same fuel at different prices through the day not even waiting for a delivery I have seen this on several occasions at my local. There should be an investigation in to this. Also the tax should be lowered drastically every one suffers with food etc being falsly inflated because of this greedy government. Also a crack down on immigration and the benefits system could lower income taxes and if the NHS were run properly we could improve services and treat people in the manner intended.

Stop dithering Gordon, You knaw you have got to reduce the fuel duty, so get on with it. Its crippling the country, ask anyone outside of Westminster.

Diesel fuel costs are extortionate and much higher than petrol. When first introduced it was the "clean" fuel and every one was encouraged to use it by the Government. So why is the tax on it now so high? This is affecting everone in the country, so give us a fuel tax cut NOW!!!
