I feel bad for posting twice but someone said something about the corpral punishment abolision? I honestly believe the problem isn't that smacking isn't being inforced but that stupid people don't know any other way to punish and so we have youngsters going without any punishment whatsoever...so shouldn't alternative punishments be advised?

To beat a thug you've got to THINK like a thug. The one thing they fear is guilt if not the law. If you were a thug what do you think would stop YOU from commiting burglery and assualt? either authorities, vigilantes, or your own concience. I am not against violence to solve the problem but first, to make this an effort, trying non-violently is the best. Make the crimanals guilty about what they've done or are thinking of doing! If they feel remorse for something they havnt done yet, then they most likley wont do it. The trick is to bring it to them in a way they can relate to rather than get them to hate authority even more for intruding on their affairs. I think that a group of they're peers...strong and popular ones that hang with them on the street...would be able to sway them into following the code of NOT STABBING PEOPLE.

We may think it's all a terrible accident, the consequences of a well-meaning but misguided liberal left.

If the police and government don't do their job properly, people will take the law into their own hands.

The only thing the scumbags parents can do naturally is to have more scumbags, they know absolutely nothing about raising children, as they themselves are just children. They are a burdon we can do without. Remove the scum from the streets, along with the parents and as I am civilised, retrain them from scratch, this will take at least 10 years, but needs to be done now!!! i mean i walked to my local shop to put credit on my phone and walking back i had a glass bottle thrown at me which smashed on the wall behinde me and was chased by about 5 males in late teens i was 15 years old i was so scared and it was all because i had a black top on , black jeans, and lots of eyeliner so i'm apparently goth

i reported it to the police and they said they couldn't do anything because i couldn't identify them , however i told them they have been coming to this area every night.

i now just don't go out it's not worth it.

they are still here 6 months on why is nothing ever done.

Thankyou for your honesty above Andy (the policeman). Its reassuring to know that there are still some officers left who care about the public & the effects England's scumbags are having on them.

I am almost in favour of vigilante justice and i honestly believe it is going to get to the point where people ARE taking the law into their own hands and deliing directly with these problems. Afterall, the police are no longer able to help us so why not??

I blame the government for abolishing smacking. Kids needs discipline. Without it they think they can do whatever they wish without punishment. We need some STRONG deterrants, not slaps on wrists. Punishment should fit the crime but at the moment nobody in power seems to want to impliment such an obvious method.

People are dieing, good decent people. They are victims of knife or gun crime or in some recent cases they are being killed by out of control yobs who believe it acceptable to kick or punch somebody to death jst because they defended themselves or their property.

I wonder what the result would be if one of these scumbags attacked the PM. Would changes be brought in then? Is that what it will take??

i know what everyones saying on here is right ive just recently had problems with youths in my area cutting though my garden and smashing one of my windows then a few nights later come though my garden again and because i caught them in my garden and shouted they started kicking hell out of my front door and kicking down my front fence they been drinking and drugging it police didnt do nothing as usual even asked for my date of birth i aint no criminal

i live in bolton every weekend i have to virtually sit a my window watching the youths terrorise the streets ...on my estate we are supposed to have police presence even an ambulance has to have an escort.Ive lived here all my life im now 36 an it was such a lovely estate wen i was younger ..but calling the police is a waste of time it takes them 4 or 5 hrs to arrive by then the kids have gone i say give the police more rights to give the youth of today a slap round the ear an prosocute the parents if they fall out of line this country needs a wake up call.What do i pay taxes for and massive taxes they are!!!

Police are tied down with masses of paper work while PCSOs with limited powers patrol the streets.
The European Human Rights Act is a joke that looks after the rights of the villans and not the victims.
Head Teacher stabbbed to death in London, judge sentences killer including that he be deported on completion of sentence. Overturned as it was against the killer's human rights, what about Mr Lawrence's human rights.
Those villans that are sentenced get a cushie time in jail because of so called do gooders like the prison reform trust. Prison should mean prison and not be a holiday camp, their reward should be remission for good behaviour.
We give terrorists who kill our citizens legal aid to make a mockery of our justice system by using the human rights act in their favour.
At the same time we pick up the tab for their families as they remain in our country on benefits while our soldiers are attacked in NHS hospitals and others forced to live in cardboard boxes.
Sign off to the European Human Rights Act.
Give our Police the power and don't tie them down with paperwork.
Give us Judges with common sense.
Make jail a place that villans do not want to return to.

I have a small child and am absolutely terrified of the world she will grow up in. I am only 28 and cannot believe how quickly generations have changed, as a kid the thought of getting into trouble with my parents or a teacher, let alone the Police would make me shake with fear and I haven't had a sheltered life I was just brought up properly by my parents.
Good on these vigilantes for taking things into their own hands, I say get these thugs on their own and put the fear of god into them and if they still don't learn give their Fathers a good seeing to until the message finally gets through to them. Let our Elderly feel safe in the streets, let Gentlemen be able to defend their properties and Families without being kicked to death by kids and let my Daughter have freedom in her own country.
It infuriates me that these kids give the decent well brought up ones a bad name and makes us treat all teenagers with hate these days.
Bring back National Service, teach them all respect and what true honour is, those boys and men all over the world fighting wars for our Country are Brave, Real Men, not you thugs. Stick you in an American Prison or a Mexican Prison with proper nutters, mass murderers, rapists and gangs - I would sit and laugh as you beg for help - not so hard now eh!!
Every community should take a stance, get a group of fed up blokes to sort these kids out or put them alone in a room with the victims families for five minutes I'm sure they would have an interesting conversation.

If that is the way forward then so be it. If there is a body of people in my area who want another member then I am willing. I am sick of the scum that Rome our streets and if this is a way of keeping them from stepping out of line then all well and good.

Show them what it is like to be a victim. I wonder how their families would fill if they starting to have done to them what their kids have been doing to others. I have taken the law upon myself many times and got the results I wanted, some of which no decided their best option was to run away and move.

As far as I am concerned it is hard enough tying to make a decent living and you can't always choose here you live. And if you don't interfere with people, then no-one should interfere with you.

These scum have changed my life but I can deal with it as I got results by my own actions which the police would never of got. I have a criminal record now and been locked up for my actions but I have had no more problems from these people because they know what they will get.

I am not talking about killing people but once they know that you will stand up to them. and they can't intimidate you then they go back to their cowardly selves.

You mat think I am no better than them by dealing with it this way but I was forced to this because I wasn't given any other option. At the end of the day they are nothing without a weapon or their boys to back them up. COWARDS! is what you are.

I'm a police officer of 6 years service and must say I'm not suprised at this at all.

Crime is rising and the feral youth that populate our streets and estates are eating away at the resolve of the decent citizen day by day and sooner or later they will win.

As a police officer my hands are more or less tied these days and an enforcer can do what I cant, I wont elaborate too much but my force is more interested in policing itself than the criminal element of this world, in an average day you can find yourself getting battered from pillar to post showing evidence to CPS lawyers (appointment needed first of course) then the custody Sgt and then maybe the CPS Lawyer again, what was once an hour or 2 in custody has now changed to an entire 12 hour shift just to satisfy the rule makers and play to the human rights of people who quite frankly dont deserve them.

I have completed over 140 crime files in my 6 years and out of those 140 people only 3 have ever been sent to prison for any amount of time, the crimes in question ranged from shoplifting right through burglary up to GBH.

I will never forget being called into court for the 2nd time on a day off to give evidence in the case of an individual who had a record as long as your arm for shoplifting and assault, we attended on time and he was nowhere to be seen which isnt uncommon, however in this case he was actually locked up in the custody suite for drunkenly assaulting his pregnant wife the previous night, now a sensible person would have assumed he would be found guilty in his absence but no, the words from the judge were and I quote ''it is not fair to try him in his absence'' WHY NOT ? my Sgt and I caught him red handed shop lifting whilst on our lunch break!?!?!?!?!? this gentleman eventually attended court and was sentenced yet again to a rehabilitation order and let straight back out to reoffend.

Now this kind of thing happens all the time, I could write all day about how useless your local Constabulary really is however the worst part of the job and something which down right makes me angry is the lies the general public are told, I sat and watched a Chief Superintendant give a television interview about how rumblings that we fixed crime figures were nonsense, not true, he was lying through his teeth, your crime doesnt count anymore if you phone us and report a crime it is immediately classified as what it is, thats until it filters down to someone like me who will phone you back and convince you that

1) there is nothing that can be done to save time and resources
2) that the crime isnt actually a crime and the moment you agree with me its wiped from the system and worst of all
3) if you happened to have fought back I will be charged with raising a crime report against you on behalf of the offender in the hope you will cancel each other out and we can all move on.

There is no justice anymore, just jobsworths and private contractors getting their money's worth for advising us on how best to avoid actually doing work,corruption is rife and political correctness is destroying those of us who would actually given the chance stand up and fight for the average man and woman, I pity you all and apologise for my part in it, this is the tip of a very dark iceberg and hope and pray that one day the law will change for the better and power will be handed back to the people but at the moment the pendulum swings firmly in the direction of the scum that make your lives a misery, its war out there but it seems no one really cares anymore.
