Is the Government doing enough to control immigration?

people used to leave england for a new adventure and sun etc. now they leave coz they`re fed up with an overcrowded and overtaxed system. a system that does not put its own citizens first. immigrants should willing to fit into the host country`s culture and system. they should respect the way we are. they should be sensitive to our beliefs. yes , this should be reciprocated but it`s all one sided in their favour. it`s a disgrace. the lefty do-gooders and apologists have a lot to answer for. 0ne hundred people a day leave britain. these people are not economic migrants - they either have money or skills or both and most are leaving through desperation. i`ve just done it. i live in australia. i miss friends, family and the country but not the system. my father tells me not to come back , i`ve done the right thing. it must have broke his heart to say that. what a shame that england is finished.

what i want to know is with all these so called immigrants and asylum seekers is why we allow so many into the country when every other country shuts its doors to them this country is far too soft and buckles to europe it wasnt so long ago that we told them where to go and they listned have we gone soft ????? this couuntry is on its knees especially with the asylum seekers my sister stays in glasgow in the high flats she see,s all of them moving in and moving out with all the furniture that they were given the previous days to sell it as soon as it is delivered to them and running around in cars that we have paid for because the system says that if they are abused racially on public transport they are given money to buy a motor vehicle the whole system has gone crazy they wonder why the real british public are so angry about whats happening in our society today right down to asylum seekers we give them asylum what do they give us nothing but problems social problem this is crime,gangs,organised prostitutionrape am i the only one who sees this problem why once we have stabilised their countries they go home why hasnt this happened ??????

In the early Seventies a huge number of immigrants were allowed to enter this country when they were expeled from Uganda. Since then totally unexeptable levels of immigration have continued. The people of this country have never had a say in this matter and no elected political party has had the bottle to confront the issue.

i can remember not so long ago every one in my local standing together being proud to be british and getting behind our soldiers going to war in the falklands. That is no longer the case those who have not left this country stand about talking of when they will be able to afford to get out prefering to be an immigrant in another country rather than stay here and watch the decline of our own. Every British person i know feels as if we have had our culture and Britishness taken away from us, if you try to speak out against immigration you are acused of being racist all the while being taxed beyond endurance to pay for the never ending stream of immigrants coming in.On every street corner there are muslim temples being built or already standing,heres an idea how about only allowing the building of a temple only if it is resiprocated by the building of a chistian church in a muslim country,fat chance of that freedom of speach and religon only apply one way and its not for the nationals of this country.

where does anyone begin, there is so much wrong in the world, so many people bending the rules to suit their greedy selves, bad people everywhere in every sector, no one values anything or anybody, the police do a great job but the courts laugh at them instead of working alongside them, as for immigration we did not want to join the EN but there was not a referedum for us to choose one way or the other. we have opened the floodgates now, how do we undo everything that has happened. i never minded a certain amount of people coming to this country years ago but it is very frightening now and i think in years to come we will be obliterated, there will not be a country left as we know it.

It's about time this government listened to us, the people who voted them into office.
STOP immigration into this overcrowded country, stick two fingers up at the EEC, stop giving them our hard earned taxes and boot out the illegals.
What keeps them coming here...simple benefits. Get rid of the doo gooders and the lawyers who are on the gravy trains supporting the illegals human rights and close the door.
Britain for the British!

its really not so bad;
the government lie about their predictions on immigration figures; as a result - our national identity is eroded, we pay higher taxes on (you name it), whilst public services are under breaking point. But its a good job we live in a country of free speech, as woe betide anyone who even comtemplates questioning government policies

It is wonderful that Carole Malone has been able to write the truth about Immigration in this country that i am sure most British people would agree with but are too frightened to mention in case they are accused or racism.
I also feel it is about time people in this country stood up for their rights and tried to stop europe from being allowed to dictate what we should be able to do and what we should not after all we as a country have always fought (and many people have lost their lives) so that this country had its freedom.
I am also one of the many British people who are thinking of leaving this country because i feel that you are not rewarded for working by this government all they ever do is increase taxes and make it more and more difficult to balance the family budget and are to willing to give handouts to people who do not deserve them

The uk should close its borders until stability as been obtained - how is our country managing - why should any UK citizen pay for immigrants education health care and why should we give them state handouts - Think this governement as really made a cock up and its us that are suffering

Was Enoch Powell right, that the forieners would take over, he's not far off. Who do we the white english blame? Every bloody government since his time, Our immigration system is a joke our boarders are not protected and the countries coffers suffer due to the way the system operates, and who suffers the the people like me, who have worked all their lives build this country to what it is today, only to be shafted by crap governments allowing any immigrant to come in and take from a system they have not put into. I did'nt want europe neither did many others but the government at the time did, we were not asked. I'm less than 10 years from my pension but my wife now has to work an extra 5 years, due to each government not protecting it's own.

I worked in the immigration business where it was common for those travelling to be told to ditch their real identities and claim to be from a country involved in war. It was also commen for solicitors to advertise in universities and internet cafes for immigration advice on commoning to britain , in other words a one stop shop, often backed by funding from legal aid. I t was common to be told to prepare for a judicial review as these are very expensive to put on and often the immigration authorities backed down , as in prescott allowing indefinite leave to fruit pickers etc.They were often sold prepared documents allowing them to work in the health service and civil service if their case was difficult.I also heard of a firm of london solicitors staffed by third generation immigrants naturalised in the last labour governments search for cheap labour who were charging 25k us $ to supply them with visas as essential workers in the States.
