Gordon Brown was not a wise man. He should have seen what was coming. He should have realised what was to come. The people had become to detest Blair and when Blair realised that he was becoming more an more a hate figure, he ran while he could. I do feel sorry for Brown because as much as he was responsible for he stealth taxes year after year, he was not the final decision maker. It was Blair who have messed up all the working class peoples lives. It should have been protocol anyway that he did not leave office until he was made to leave by an election because, we did not vote in Gordon Brown anyway. The only way Gordon Brown should have been made to take over was if Blair was dead, or too ill to run the country. He has ran a mile now as if he was never there in the first place while Rome BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think gordon brown should say to himself "why can`t i be like blair and win the hearts of the country ". well gordon brown you are really no good at your job, so go now and let somebody in who will do good for england as you are useless.

The Labour Party don't get it, the people of this country are fed up to the back teeth with them. I am sick and tired of hearing them blame every one else, and saying how better things are now since 1997. It seems that is all they can think of. Time for change.

Unlike the UKIP and the BNP the Conservatives have no policies. Therefore, despite the protest vote, it is quite possible that Labour will win another term in two years time.

Glad Mr Bean got routed he has taxed everyone to the hilt. And is totaly out of touch he said its disapointing he has realised the voters hate him and the rest labour used to be for the working class now there just in it for themselves I have never voted but I voted torie something I thought I would never do get the message brown shut the door on no10 on your way out.

Brown is an absolute disaster. He suffers from the delusion that he is right about everything. He knows best. In the Labour party the entire political class has become divorced from the people they are in power to serve, in reality.
stealth taxes queezing us until we bleed is all Gordon is interested in. As a pensioner I am now better off per month by £1.70. a month after Gordon has grabbed he share of my tax on my small income. Does'nt count that i've worked for 50 years to live on a meagre fixed income.
When you think of M.P's salaries and expenses whot a cheek. Although, many in our society have not had the education they deserve because of bad performing schools..it does'nt make them stupid..this Gord is your biggest mistake. Vote for Boris he at least has clarity and precision on his side unlike GORD.

David Cameron is just a rich boy trying to act as if he is bothered about the lower classes just to get into power.

Any one with sense can see that if the tories get into power then they will do what all tories do - steal from the poor and give to the rich.

Yes labour have gone down the pan, but they're still better than a kick in the teeth, which is what the majority of the population will get if the conservatives get into power.

I'm a long time Labour Party member, but am furious that `labour' isn't respected by Brown. He hits middle income and lower income working people hard because they're on PAYE and can't escape his clutches. Look at the last budget and see who gains most though - non working lone parents, then non working parents ie the benefit scroungers. The very rich ie those earning £150,000 plus, are paying the same tax - 40% -as middle income earners (and many of them are fiddling tax with off shore accounts, non dom status, and trust funds).

Brown's big problem is that it is those middle income and working low income people who actually bother to get off their bums and vote when the elections come round, and they are absolutely sick of being the target of his desperate schemes to raise more in taxes. When Cameron said last week he would help WORKING families, I thought for the first time - I may vote Conservative. That would be a big change for me. I've begun to think that Brown likes people to become dependant on benefit handouts (including working tax credits) rather than just letting people keep their hard earned money in the first place, as he thinks they'll have to vote Labour. It's muddled thinking.

Cameron's Tories to win with honesty and respect. These qualities are needed urgently to heal our fractured society.

In 9 months we have been "going down with Gordon Brown". He has been an utter disaster ever since 1997 with his infamous raid of £5 billion a year on pension funds. He has destroyed the pensions' industry, now he intends to destroy the poorest in our society.

I have written to Cameron aying that after voting Con since 1951 I will not do so again until he says and means it that he will get us out of the EU.
But he won't will he?
UKIP for me.

It goes without saying that Bottler Brown should not win the next election, should not even be in a position to be able to fight the next election. Obviously only the Tories have a chance to oust this rotten corrupt Labour lot, BUT they have to come up with far better policies than the 'family friendly, pay nursing mothers to stay at home, give daddies six months maternity leave' type of mush. We need REAL policies for REAL problems, not dummies for babies. For starters, there's the EU:Cameron, get us OUT OF IT, PLEASE! Then there's IMMIGRATION:Cameron, stop it, halt it, get rid of the scroungers, criminals and multiple breeders who are sucking our blood. Then there's EDUCATION: Cameron, leave Grammar Schools alone. Everyone has a chance of a brilliant education, if they are academically suitable, and isn't that the only criteria possible? Then there is WORK: Cameron, the Devil finds work for idle hands to do and this is what is happening in our country right now. It is ESSENTIAL that young people have a chance of finding a job when they leave school, so bring back the whole spectrum of work opportunities there used to be - guards on trains and platforms, bus conductors, school inspectors, park-keepers, cashiers, police on the beat, matrons in hospitals, cleaners...all these AS WELL AS staring at computer screens all day. In short, bring back manual work as there are loads of prospective manual workers out there with nothing to do. The whole country needs picking up by its collar and shaking out so that the rubbish that has accumulated in all the crevices can be dislodged and thrown away and commonsense can return. Until and unless the Conservatives suggest this is what they will do they will only get into government because the other side has lost the election not because they have won it.

Would there be any difference between the two? I won't vote for either as the only people they help are themselves.

My labour council (rotherham) have almost doubled council tax since New Labour took power, they also scrapped funding to age concern this year. Moron Brown steals from the poor to give to the rich "silly bitch".
What do they expect to happen?
Unfortunately i remember the Tories, hence i propose emmigration to be the answer.

Brown or Cameron? Cameron or Brown? Not much of a choice!!

i would prefer to be stabbed in the front by the conservatives than in the back by labour

Labour has never been so unpopular, but there is something wrong with the electoral system if the conservatives will only get a 60 seat majority. By the way, how come anyone is still voting labour?

This Labour government under Brown is in total disarray, the economy is stumbling and the rip off tax and spend policies of the last ten years have proved to be a failure as we further dive into a 'shameless' society. Labour are incredibly unpopular with everyone except the 'shameless' lot and certain public sector workers (both relying on profligate Labour handouts) and how do they respond, more rip off policies on decent hard working families, like raising car taxes, raising council taxes, introducing CCTV parking fines, 25 a day congestion charges, cutting the 10p rate of tax, etc... I used to be proud of England and its fairness and now I just want to emigrate to a country where you are rewarded for hard work, and not punished with huge taxes for being hard working and successful.

It really is time for a change, you can tell Cameron is a decent bloke, and the Conservatives will certainly get my vote if they pledge to reverse rip off Britain, give us value for money from taxes, and do something about the 'shameless' lot.

This is what happens when you leave the same party in power for to long,

Brown and his cohorts deserve to be removed from office, they seem to think that every problem can be solved by another stealth tax. The working people of this country have had enough. Why dont they take their quangos, secret armies and stealth taxes back into the wilderness with them

If David Cameron does win which i think he will, he will do by the peoples vote not by default, Brown shouldn't even be in the running for PM no one voted for him to lead our country, after ten years look at what labour will be leaving for the next government, a country with no indentity a country with some living in poverty, a fuel tax that only a wasting labour government could inflict on decent working class people. In ten years labour have destroyed what once was a Great Britain. And i thought the Raving looney party had gone.

please please please, get rid of Labour, they haven't done anything good for the country and have just made us look like a a laughing stock around the world! Tired having Scottish people rule Britain! they have their own parliament

Sounds like a lot of self dellusioned buffons are commenting here.Labour is finished and so is Brown,he was always a non starter, who voted for him? Not me!

Well done Gorden keep up the good work and dont let Cameron get in he is a nutter.and will do no good for anyone, exept the rich.

Personally, I think half of the Labour MP's come acoss as court jester when you listen to them.....

It's a no brainer that Cameron has learned not to reveal his hand of proposed policies - we all know what happens when he does and the public likes them - when the General Election come and there's no squirming out of it, then and only then will David Cameron lay before the Electorate what the Conservatives will do. The electorate will then decide whether to jump into the abyss of a 4th labour term, of take up the challenge of stabilising this country again - something Margaret Thatcher had a real challenge doing the last time Labour were in power.
With an economics qualification, I can understand the realities of what the public call 'stealth' taxes. Married together with what in simple word amounts to 'public debt', Labour has put this country in an extremely unstable position. Even the macroeconomy is showing cracks......the poor old macroeconomy of us - the general public - began it's slow but now much more rapid disintegration a long time ago.

This was Brown's ultimate mistake. This was when Brown's 'addiction' of continuing to gamble with the public coffers got the better of him. This is what David Cameron's "put some aside for a rainy day" was a direct reference to. Gordon Brown didn't and now he's blown it. For those of you who know football.....it all has a feeling of the Leeds United collapse; overspend, gamble more in hope of increasing outside revenue, fail to meet the target gambled on, and BANG!, it all comes crashing down around your ears, debt rockets, the incumbent has to leave and someone else has tho pick up the pieces.

It truly is time for SOS Conservatives and David Cameron - this man and his team have a lot on their plate.......ironically 2012 Olympics must be cashed in on; the intervening years could yet prove uncomfortable for those of us still stuck in Microeconomy World.

There's no need for Gordon to panic, I'm sure he can still import a few more million voters to get him out of trouble.

Regardless of who wins an election, the real losers are the ordinary English working class who`ve had mass immigration without a thought of the consequences on their local infastructure thrust upon them and have seen themselves persecuted and financialy punished for being English and living in England instead of Scotland,Wales or Poland.
No mainstream political party will ever have the courage to do what`s needed to start the process to save this once great country going even further down the pan.
Will the last Englishman to leave England please turn out the light.

When it comes to the point of electing a new party and a new Prime Minister - millions of voters have a mental image of the winner entering ten downing street. The image of David Cameron is one of his hurling insults across the chamber of parliament - insulting the prime minister of the day - Gordon Brown. Cameron made a huge error in appointing Hague as shadow foreign secretary - Hague is a court jester -a funny man - He presented himself to be the next P.M. in the last election - and he was humiliated -The people do not want comedians or schoolboys - they want someone of DIGNITY. Cameron lacks this essential element.
