BLUES WIN LAMPARD WAR

EXCLUSIVE from ROB BEASLEY in Moscow

LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI is confident he has trounced Jose Mourinho in the battle for Frank Lampard.

Chelsea’s new boss now expects the England midfielder to sign a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.

And it could all be done and dusted before the new season kicks off.

The dramatic development comes after Scolari acted as peacemaker in the stalled talks between the club and the 30-year-old star.

A Chelsea insider revealed: “There will be a new round of talks with Frank this week and everyone is far more confident a deal can now be done. Scolari has made Lampard feel valued since he took charge.

Anxiety

“He’s now ready to stay and the club are ready to look again at their ‘final offer’.”

That £140,000-a-week, four-year contract offer will be reviewed.

And despite Mourinho missing out on Lamps, Inter president Massimo Moratti said: “Was I disappointed by his attitude? Not at all. I found him to be serious and focused.

“He wanted to leave Chelsea, I am certain of that, although it created a lot of anxiety for him — and in fact he stayed because of family matters.

“He stayed for his father, who he is extremely close to, and for his whole environment. Therefore he was unable to create that split that they expected and we were hoping for.”

Chris a Blues supporter for 60 yrs. How many Champion league titles have you won compared to the Mighty Reds and Man U in that time?? Even your Russian sugar daddy can't by you Europe. You just sound like a bitter and twisted old man.

r.e roger evans..
without ronaldo carrying the whole utd team for the last two seasons you would finish third!! as soon as he goes the title will be at stamford bridge again for years to come!

"blah blah blah how many titles blah"

Roger Evans = glory hunter.

Never rest on your Laurels, How the "Mighty Reds" would have loved to have a "Sugar Daddy" are yet to win the Premier this millenium, Sad comments above, Jealousy's an ugly word.

Neither Man U or Liverpool fans have any reason to be jealous of Chelsea. Players come to those teams as they respect the club and want to be part of great teams with history. Other than JT i can't think of any chelsea player who is there for any other reason than they pay the highest wages (usually for average players- Malouda, Bhoularouz, Bridge, Duff, Shevchenko (although world class in Italy) and the list could go on and on) Chelsea will not win the title, this is Liverpools year. Come on the reds- and if they dont win it i would rather Man U win it, at least Ferguson has proved he can build a title winning team without the Zillions needed by Chelsea to do so.

How many times have Chelsea got the whole of England banned from Europe ?

I can't be bothered to slag of the Scousers, they're a parody of themselves anyway.

I'm just glad Lamps is going to stay with Chelsea. A great player, loved by Chelsea fans who would have been sad to see him go.

Well done Scolari!

I dont understand chelsea.Frank is not good enough to get that money. He is very greedy.Get rid of him and sign some young players

just shame lamps heart is not in it when he plays for England, maybe it because England do not pay him another money to play, one of the worst England players i have seen since john barns........but then what do you expect from a Chelsea player but money money money

roger evans,
you speak CARP,chelsea did not england banned from europe it was all the problems what liverpool cause,DO YOU REMEMBER,or are you little retarded.chelsea have a good name in europe because i have live and worked there.was there any trouble when chelsea in the last 5 years ?????????

Isn't it funny how "this year" is always going to be Liverpool's year?

Of course, by about the fourth week of every season, the chorus becomes "this year is about building a foundation for the years ahead."

Truth is, Liverpool have barely looked competitive for years, and I see little different now.

If you belive in yourself to be worth the money then thats what matters...... look at what Frank as done for chelsea and how he helped to get them to were they are today the club as seen sence and gave him what he wanted you would do the same if you could in your working life if you were worth the money.

oH DEAR HOW IS HE GOING TO MANAGE ON £140,000 A WEEK? iAM SICK AND TIRED OF THESE OVER PAID FOOT BALERS MOANING ABOUT THEIR PAY. tAKE A LOOK AT THE REAL WORLD lAMPARD AND BE GREATFULL FOR WHAT YOUR OFFERD. 4 YEAR CONTRACT PAIDED MORE THAN A LOT OF PEOPLE EARN IN A YEAR! GREED COMES TO MIND

Hopefully, this year will see a realignment of media terminology in the Premier League. Henceforth, reference should be made to the top two (Chelsea and Manure), the striving six (tottenham, everton, man city, portsmouth, arsenal and liverpool in any order and changing annually), the settled six (pick whichever you wish) and the struggling six(pick 'em).
