I can understand United attempting t o show the world that Madrid are not a bigger club or that United are not a feeder club, but the damage this saga is doing is not worth it. The only person who has made a sensible comment is Leonard. There is a much bigger point here that goes beyond Ronaldo and the money we could get for him. The point is that we cannot allow players to dictate everything. IF we sell Ronaldo to Madrid, then the next people to demand a move will be Nani and Anderson. We've got 3 of the best young players in the world and believe me, Madrid will have them all if they can. The idea that Ronaldo would rot in the stands is a joke - of course he wouldn't - he loves his football far too much and he would get on and play for the team. People also forget that whilst he is undoubtedly a primadonna, he is also the hardest working professional at Man Utd. Fergie has told us countless times how hard Ronaldo practices at his game, the first there and the last to leave. This isn't so much a battle between Madrid and Man Utd but a battle between the club and player power. United are showing that they will not be dictated to by player demands. I fully support the club's stance on this - it's about time a club should stand up for principles and I'm glad that it's Man Utd who are doing it.
