Italian giants ready to pile pressure on Arsenal
JUVE £15M VAN PERSIE BID
EXCLUSIVE by GEOFF SWEET
JUVENTUS are ready to pile the pressure on Arsene Wenger with a £15million move for Robin van Persie.
But Arsenal will issue a hands-off warning after already losing Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan and Alex Hleb to Barcelona, who also want hitman Emmanuel Adebayor.
Juve see Dutch forward Van Persie as the perfect replacement for the talismanic Pavel Nedved.
The Czech star, 35, has signed a one-year contract extension in Turin but is expected to call it a day next June.
Structure
Van Persie, 24, arrived at Arsenal in 2004 for £3m from Feyenoord and was touted as the new Dennis Bergkamp.
His career has been blighted by injury but he has so far scored 28 goals in 87 appearances and scored twice for Holland during Euro 2008.
Van Persie is contracted to the Gunners until 2011 but, worryingly for Wenger, he has recently criticised the club’s pay structure.
He also suggested Arsenal suffer when their offers are compared to Premier League and continental rivals.
He said: “They won’t pay enormous amounts of money. They should go to a higher level of salary.”
Juve would prefer to do business now but are prepared to wait until Nedved packs in if necessary.
not really bothered if he stays or goes and judging by the fact no-one else has made a comment then i guess everyone else feels the same. robin no doubt a good player but too injury prone and far from irreplacable. if you wanna leave be my guest you can step. wenger keeps finding new young talent i thought eboue was best right back for years then in comes sagna and eboue looks ordinary! so if juve want van persie we'll take the 15mil thank you very much!

persie is a great player in the world and it would be a great blow to the juventus especially after acqusto of amauri and the great form of trezeguet and delpiero become a team even more strong and already is ...

Persie would have been a good player but not to me,a good player should be able to use a left and right foot.Besides that being an injury prone is another big problem.
We shall miss him if he goes but he's affordable to loose and at a reasonable price we can bring in even a better replacement.
