Kop boss plans dream team of Keane and Torres
RAFA WANTS ROBBIE
By CHRIS BASCOMBE
LIVERPOOL want Robbie Keane to wear their famous No 7 shirt next season.
Kop boss Rafa Benitez plans a £20million player-plus-cash offer involving wantaway striker Peter Crouch.
But Tottenham have resisted the first tentative Anfield approach for striker Keane.
Spurs told the Reds they would be wasting their time making a formal bid for the Irish ace.
That will not dissuade Benitez, who has decided a forward line of Keane and Fernando Torres is the key to an improved domestic campaign.
Benitez is prepared to restructure his tactical plans to accommodate Keane by pushing Steven Gerrard back into his favoured central midfield role.
Keane’s loyalty to Spurs will be tested now Benitez’s interest is public.
The 27-year-old, who has been at White Hart Lane since 2002, is settled in North London.
Heroes
But he will be tempted at the prospect of Champions League football and the honour of taking the jersey of one of his boyhood heroes, Kenny Dalglish.
Liverpool are the only English club which can tug so strongly at the ex-Leeds man’s heartstrings as he is known to be a supporter.
Despite an excellent relationship with the Spurs hierarchy, the possibility of a takeover will also be playing on his mind.
England hitman Crouch, 27, may prove key to a deal but he is also a target for Portsmouth, Newcastle and Manchester City.
Pompey had a £9m bid rejected earlier this week, while Toon hope the lure of playing alongside Michael Owen will give them an edge.
If former Spurs trainee Crouch does not fancy a move to his old club, Liverpool will look to buy Keane outright.
I hope this one happens forget villa hunterlaar and all the rest and lets get a proven premiership goalscorer IN RAFA WE TRUST...

Come and play for a huge club Robbie - the club you supported as a boy. Liverpool FC is a global institution Robbie and this is your big chance to fulfill your boyhood dreams. Keane and Torres up front = no. 19 + 6.

Hope this one happens, he's a quality player with the finishing touch of Torres & the work ethic of Kuyt. Would be made up if it happens, and from what I've heard a few months ago he is a red. Keep's scoring against us so let's bring that trend to an end! YNWA

Never going to happen Liverpool need players that score from hardly any chances like Torres. Robbie Keane needs aleast five chances to score one goal.
Not the player liverpool need waste of time leave him at spurs where he looks a good player at Liverpool he will be average.

you havent a chance off signing robbie he loves the fans at spurs and is loyal to the club which over the past few weeks puts to shame some other players trying to bullie there team into selling them or have outstanding wages to have avarage games how can a player about time uafa dind something to stop all this wages rising what is it going to be one day a player beeing on £1.000.000 the fans pay hard earned money to watch there teams play through all weathers yet the players just think off themselves if a player earns that sort off money then acording to this they must all be the best player in the world what a joke

Keano is a living legend at the Lane!
Why would he want to go to Anfield? He's working with the best Sapnish boss in Prem as it is.
How much would he cost? How much is Gerrard worth x 10! That's how much.

Keane would and torres would work perfectly. The ability of Keane to play as a second striker and drop back "in the hole" with his creativity and vision would compliment Torres so well. Towards the end of the season I was asked who I would like us to sign up front and Keane was at top of the list - a proven prem goalscorer who would be affordable. Make it happen Rafa!!!

You spurs fans make me laugh. We were 11 points clear of 5th place how exactly is that losing grip of a top 4 place? Shows that Spurs fans aren't that smart but then again a mid-table finish suits you guys as long as you can get that lucky route into europe. Fingers crossed you idiots get knocked out of that sharpish. Come to a good team Keane it would be worth challenging for worthwhile cups instead of the lowly cups. YNWA

Dont go Robbie Spurs are on the up and you are as happy as you have ever been.

We will only consider it if you give us Torres plus £20m. Keane has been scoring 20+ goals a season for years now so the idiot that said he needs 5 chances to score obviously has not seen Keane play.

Affordable! You can have Berba £40M if you like.
Keano is a Yid and always will be!

Maybe...just maybe, for Crouch, Gerrard and 12 million pounds. Otherwise, that Rafa is even more of a coconut than he looks.

I'm a nuetral and an irishman, I can see why liverpool would want him but I don't believe he would start as many games, so he would have to decide wat was more important.

If robie is not worth 20m why dont the smart liverpool fans go and find someone cheaper and better then! lets face it spurs have more chance breaking into the top four than liverpool ever has of winning the prem. only a matter of time till torres finds that out and goes chelsea. lets see how u like it when a club goes public about your players.

"slowly losing there big 4 status in the priemer league" - How? We finished 11 pts behind the winners and 11 pts ahead of 5th. We've finished 3rd in the 2 seasons previous to the last one.
"soon we will be bigger and better than the pool" - How, what you gonna do? Pay £17m for Darren Bent all over again!!
It's stupid deals like the Bent transfer that have caused prices/values to be as ridiculous as they are today!
And you spurs fans criticising Rafa's rotation have obviously forgotten the number of times Keane (your best player, IMO) has been substituted for spurs!! And, more times than not, it has cost you points!! Keane has publically shown his disapproval many times when he was benched!! Best manager my ****!!!!
YNWA.

you deluded spurs fans make me laugh!! content with mid table and back door into uefa cup. come to a proper side and play on the biggest club football stage in the world and experience the magical european nights of anfield against the giants of europe!!!!! you spurs fans can only dream and weep about that! at pool keano would flourish in a decent side and have a chance of being likened to legends like fowler, gerrard and carragher. he would have the cherished no.7 shirt and be able to play in the big four!! what have spurs got to offer???????????

Robbie won't go to Liverpool, he's not Spanish and wouldn't tolerate the rotation system.
Nor would he want to move to that rathole from Hertfordshire

You spurs fans have not a clue. Robbie Keane would be better off going to LIVERPOOL instead of playing with second rate players like bent, jenas, robinson if it was not for keane you would of been relegated definatly. You seem to think that your team is a top 4 team when they are nothing but second rate. Robbie Keane should come and wear the famous no 7 shirt and help fire us to the prem and champions league glory. YNWA .. As for calling a rathole have you seen North London it is a dump ...Come on Robbie see sense and join a class team
