Nigeria boss picks Everton players for FIVE matches
MOYES ON COLLISION COURSE
by LUKE NICOLI
NIGERIA coach Shaibu Amodu is on collision course with Everton boss David Moyes after naming Yakubu, Joseph Yobo and Victor Anichebe in his 27-man squad for FIVE punishing matches in just THREE weeks next month.
Harry Redknapp will not be best pleased either after John Utaka and Kanu were called up, likewise Kevin Keegan and Avram Grant, who are set to lose Obafemi Martins and John Obi Mikel respectively.
Amodu will be at Fratton Park this afternoon to introduce himself to both Pompey players while accompanying Nigerian FA officials are hoping to set up meetings with the remaining players on their whistle-stop tour to the UK.
Sacrifice
The Super Eagles face Austria in a friendly on May 27, followed by World Cup/African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa, Sierra Leone, and two games against Equatorial Guinea.
In total 10 Brit-based players have been called up and a Nigerian FA spokesman has warned that all players should put country before club this summer.
He said: "We know that the players will love to take a break after the season but, in view of the way the games have been fixed, we have to appeal to their patriotism for them to sacrifice their holidays for the nation.
"We can't afford any slip ups which could make our qualification a difficult task. We hope to start well so that we won't have any sleepless nights along the way."
The Nigerians' presence at Fratton Park today will not go down well with Redknapp, who lost four first-team regulars to the African Cup of Nations in January.
Moyes,Harry and others have no reason to panic.the qualifications are just for the month of June and there internationals would be theres again.
Remember July and a larger part of August is there for them to blend with club team mates.
Besides,Euro 2008 will soon commence which will also claim other internationals

i don't hear premier league managers complain about the euro 2008 after an hectic season...or england's meaningless friendly against T&T.
