GRANT PLAYS IT QUIET

by ANDY DUNN

NICOLAS ANELKA has admitted Avram Grant barely speaks to his Chelsea players.

The French striker — frustrated at being used mainly as a sub since his £15million January switch from Bolton — gave an insight into Grant's unusual management style.

Terry: We're the greatest in Europe

Cech can't take the pain of failure

Anelka said: "He is very shy. He doesn't speak a lot. I don't think he needs to speak too much because he has quality players and they know what to do.

The reticent Grant has yet to tell Anelka what his role will be in Moscow on Wednesday.

But even if — as looks likely — he is left on the bench, Anelka insists he will not be looking for the NINTH move of his career.

He said: "No, I am staying. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world so there's no point moving again because we contest the Champions League and Premier League title.

Deadly

"I have moved too many times. Even if I am on the bench, I am glad to be here.

"I am still new to the club. I try to do my best when the manager asks."

There has already been speculation over Anelka's future at Stamford Bridge but he insists he is happy with his move.

Anelka, 29, added: "I hope I start more games next season and play in my best position, then I will produce my best."

And he believes he can form a deadly partnership with Didier Drogba.

They combined to great effect in the 2-1 league win over Arsenal at the Bridge in March.

Anelka said: "The manager asked me to play up front with Didier and we did great.

"I hope we play together next season. I hope Didier will stay."
