Burnley bid for top-flight two

COLE AND SUN CHASE

SUNDERLAND striker Andy Cole and Manchester City defender Sun Jihai are being lined up by ambitious Burnley boss Owen Coyle.

Cole had a loan spell with the Clarets this season and is heading back after being released by Roy Keane’s Black Cats.

And Chinese defender Sun Jihai has held preliminary talks about a switch to Turf Moor.

His contract at City runs out in June and he is keen to stay in the north-west of England.

Coyle is also hoping experienced defender David Unsworth will pen a new one-year deal that includes a coaching role at the club.
