Adele: Live at the Bloomsbury Theatre
It’s lucky that Adele is so hilarious between songs because, for half the show, she’s sat on her own on a stool with just an acoustic guitar.
The contrast between the Laahndan teenager and her smokey jazz voice is remarkable, but there’s not much to look at. Which, when she starts playing bigger venues, will be a problem.
Also, even Adele admits her album 19 is heavy on ballads. “This is your only chance to dance,” she says before the funky Cold Shoulder.
Adele’s a loveable, big star—now she needs a big show to match.
