ENJOY picking off bogies with as much glee as a snotty little kid
Yes, we all remember arcade ace Afterburner — well, this is the air to the throne, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.
It’s a next-gen flight combat title from Ubisoft which is set to be a runway success on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Set in 2012, the storyline is, erm, well you soon forget about that when you’ve got bad guys at 12 o’clock.
The gameplay is electric — with more fancy manoeuvres than Maverick on acid and enough heat-seekers to make Iceman melt.
A handy little invention on H.A.W.X. is the (E)nhanced (R)eality (S)ystem — this bad boy maps out a flight path which you follow to set up nicely behind the enemy so you can gun ’em down.
You can also flick between first and third-person views, which is especially useful when trying to evade (dodge) missiles.
On your mach, jet-set, go!
