A SONY are celbrating their briliant new Vaio TZ laptop with a coffee table book called Making It. Featured in the glossy pages are 11 of the UK’s most influential entrepreneurs, along with the secrets of their success. Among the 11 businesses captured by acclaimed portrait photographer Amelia Troubridge are interior designer to the stars Kelly Hoppen, luxury jeweller Stephen Webster and Soho Group founder Nick Jones. Photographer Amelia Troubridge says: “The photographic illustrations are designed to capture the personality of each business. Chaining Stephen Webster to a lamppost using his exquisite jewellery and capturing the glamour of Kelly Hoppen in a run-down environment was a challenge but we are really excited about the results.”
Other people featured include Coco Ribbon boutique owners Sophie Oliver and Alison Chow, founder of community business Tribewanted, Ben Keene; James Averdieck, MD of GU Puddings; Ben Elliott and Aaron Simpson, founders of premium concierge business Quintessentially; Anthony Buck & Rob Calcraft, founders of REN skin, Simon Woodroffe, founder of Yo! Sushi and featured on Dragons Den, Alison Brooks, founder of Alison Brooks Architects Ltd, and Kanya King, founder of the MOBO Awards.
Mikah Martin-Cruz from Sony comments: “Sony is proud to have worked with such interesting characters for ‘Making It’ and hope the book will provide some inspiration for everyone. Communication is key to running a successful business and the VAIO TZ series notebook is the perfect compliment for any budding entrepreneur. Not only does it look great, it’s small, light and you can access the internet wherever you are.”
