Nintendo’s latest game My Word Coach may sound geeky but it is in fact a lot of fun. It exercises your brain, increases your vocabulary and tests your spelling. Learning can be fun! You’ll be hooked at the first step. Starting with an assessment to calculate your vocabulary and potential you’ll either be miffed with the result and want to get learning or be so smug that you’ll want to show the game how it’s done. With over 16,000 words from the Cambridge Dictionary so you’ll be in for a challenge. Chose from four training experts to travel with you on your learning journey, they’ll give you support and advice to get you through to the end. There’s 6 tests on the DS and 7 on the Wii, which include the classic Tetris, using letter blocks to spell out words. Or find the missing letter using the touch screen and stylus. The tests can be one or two-player on individual DS Lite’s using Wi-Fi or play with a team on the Wii. In one session, you’ll come across 150 words and out of those words, you’re expected to learn 5. If used for the recommended 20 minutes a day you’ll learn a staggering 35 new words a week!
