KEVIN KEEGAN walked out of Newcastle and left the club in turmoil last week.
He felt let down by the board - they felt let down by him.
Should he have gone - or should he have stayed?

Offensive? Report commentAshley is the owner of the club.Seems to me It's a case of " He who pay's the piper calls the tune" Quite right too.
Ashley has made the offer for the "Fans" to buy him out at a very reasonable £1000 each.
Why don't they take him up on the offer?
If they wont, they should shut up and let the man who has invested his millions, and his team, do their job.
Otherwise they should stay away. THEY DO NOT OWN NEWCASTLE UNITED, ASHLEY DOES.
A re-run of the Manchester United scene all over again.
Get real "fans" put up or shut up".

Offensive? Report commentProblems galore at this place!
Firstly:
Ashley is the WORST manager ever at this club. He seems in it for the money and the fame - not the game.
Secondly:
Keegan should never have come back. He's too emotional and highly strung and bolts when things get tough and throws a paddy when things don't go his way. I lost faith in him when he left the last time.
Thirdly:
Players get paid too much (compared to average joe's wage) for kicking a ball around the field. They have no incentive to try or 'need' to win games. Why? Look at their weekly wages. It's more than I get in a year and I educate the next generation. Far more important than 'feet kicking ball'!
Fourthly:
They have a thug on the team. Hey kids, be abusive and violent and we'll still pay you thousands to kick a ball around the field. Is it any wonder we have kids as young as six becoming violent when clubs like this condone and allow thugs to play in a responsible and role-providing position?
Newcastle do not deserve to be in the premiership. I hope they get relegated. Newcastle needs to have firm, fair ownership and a reliable and cool-headed manager. Look at how many managers there have been since Keegan left the first time? Only the clubs with stability win the big cups - and we haven't had stability for years.

Offensive? Report commentMy views on the Toon Saga as they continue on tyneside, and they are still laughable, as the last wagon move off the town moor (the circus has been in town) it seems the clowns are left behind, Mike ashley as coco, he has gone from saint to sinner within weeks, which ever way you look at it his silence is golden, yes he is the man in charge, and yes he holds the purse strings, and yes every other owner of football clubs like to keep themselves to themselves, but people are forgetting he wanders around wanting to be a fan of the toon in his shirt and buying drinks in the pubs, so yes as he wants this admiration as one of the lads, he needs to let people know whats going on @ the toon he cant have it both ways and now keeping completely quiet and no statement from him on this matter and the fact he let keegan go his silence is making more noises then the big market on a saturday night..He will not be forgiven for this now or at any time in the future , so i guess he needs to sell up quickly because his time at the toon is now become untenable to say the least. How may pubs will he show up at now .. None, will he be wearing the shirt again i guess not, and will he mix with the fans at away games, not unless he wants to live.. Newcastle fans are more likely having their christmas party at the stadium of light than ashley getting away with this on Tyneside, move on kind sir as you are not welcome, Lets all turn up for the game on sat for hull but stay outside , and certainly dont buy tickets for the spurs game this will hit him harder, we need to stick together on this one and the time is now to make a stand..

Offensive? Report commentcome on....its common knowledge that keegan onl came back because he was in 2mill of personal debt with his soccer circus...until he got a call from ashley, he wasnt interested in newcastle or football in general. the club paid his debts off and put a clause in his contract that he would pay them 2mill if he walked out....he scrapped the reserve team the first time he was a the mags...he has no interest in young players and if the mags wanted to do an 'arsenall' then that short sighted bottler should have never been hired again...the inside joke at nufc was keegan walked around with a resignation letter in his pocket! and FFS put the 'numerous' resignation letters kev offered the club first time round!

Offensive? Report commentThe real problem with king kev is hit right on the nail here he has no eye for young talent only for has beens who have had great success in there careers & are now clearly past there best.
As a Man city fan I lived how Kev built an exciting short term team then splashed millions on players with very little return. Robbie "wheres the goal" fowler, Steve "traffic control" Mcmanaman, David " Opps I missed it again" Seaman all great players in there day.
Newcastle are looking to build for the future whilst Keegan is looking to build for short term gain , this brings very exciting times but the bubble soon burst. Newcastle need a manager with great stability whom can build a substantial, youthful squad that can grow into something more than high paid Prema Dona's, more intrested in the housing market than next saturdays results.

Offensive? Report commentIt is sad to see that some people just cannot see the clear daylight-that Keegan has been treated very, very bad by the NUFC-board! Of course Keegan would not agree to not have the final say in players in/out of the club when he was appointed. He clearly did not have that final say, but he waited and hoped for the best until the transfer window slammed shut. He has been left with a paperthin squad, the club signed players he did not want, and sold players he did not want. And during the crisis meetings, Keegan just wanted that final say back. Is that too much to ask? Clearly for that junk-board and Ashley who has done a major mistake! The Toon-fans will not be fooled, and Ashley will pay the price for that- he is to be forced to sell the club on.

Offensive? Report commentI am a Celtic fan, who also has a lot of time for Kevin Keegan. He deserves better. How can a Manager, who is judged every week by the display
of his team, when he has no control over who comes
and who goes?
Newcastle United, the fans and the city deserve better than their curent owners.
Time for a buy out by the fans, Celtic got ride of the
old board by protest and non-attendance.
I believe the fans of NewCastle may well do the same.
Good luck to the fans!

Offensive? Report commentWhat is Wise doing at Newcastle United? He was a menace as a player who was not a favourite at the Toon. What i would like to know is, why he is entrusted by the management to affect KK by being able to buy players. Kevin Keegan is a real Geordie, who has been there for us in the past. He has passion and who can blame him for wanting to sign only the best players himself. I have been a supporter of the toon for over 60 years and i am now beginning to wonder what is going on? At the rate we are going we will end up in the third division. We should all boycott all home games until Wise is gone.

Offensive? Report commentFrom the moment Keegan returned to the club it was a crisis in the making for Newcastle. Why the fans hailed his return as anything but a disaster i will (and the majority of non-newcastle fans will agree) never now. Keegan has always been a terrible manager and this is proof once again that great players do not necessarily make great manager...and that is the fact that fans and club owners alike need to wake up too.

Offensive? Report commentSo if Keegan now looks set to sue for constructive dismissal and stands to get a £2m pay-out if he succeeds.
Surely if he was in charge of a circus as stated in the report he would be better off trying to claim "Funfair dismissal"
Keep it up my Northumbrian friends
Comment number: 129531932
Offensive? Report commentThis is nonsense. Keegan let Jimenez and Wise get on with it. They delivered four decent players, but ran around like headless chickens when they hadn't improved the squad or the finances by very much and Milner put in his transfer request. They didn't tell Keegan for a week and only THEN approached Bayern Munich and Schweinsteiger. Now they claim is was a plan Keegan agreed to! Despicable.
As are the lies about a centre half. Dunne could have been a free instead of £10m for Collocini and so could Hyypia. Hyypia would have been a good stop gap until a younger player came through or was discovered.
Ashley is a fool to stand by those two. If it's businessmen he wants, that's not what he has.
BTW, every time KK has left a post it was because he felt he couldn't do the job justice. This time it's different. The exception was when he left Fulham for england.

Offensive? Report commentFat ashley ingratiated himself to the TOON fan's by sitting among the away fan's,buying them drink's in the pub's and club's, wearing his shirt at match's..Then he humiliates both KK and the fan's...This man ? should not be allowed to get away with it for the sake of football fan's everywhere....

Offensive? Report commentfirstly get your facts right, Jimmenez was not at the club when KK returned, he came in later with the poisoned dwarf (wise). I back kev 100 percent as he has been treated disgracefully. I only renewed my season ticket because of him, untill these clowns leave I'll not be spending another penny at the club, unfortunately I have paid for my season ticket otherwise I would not be going again

Offensive? Report commentThis statement just proves how out of touch the current owners are with their 'investment'.
I've never read such a pile of rubbish that has been presented as 'FACT'. Do they not realise every statement is recorded?
How do they explain the poisoned dwarf's (Wise) statement to the media on his appointment at the club?
You can accuse KK of many things but a liar? I don't think there are many that could try and tar him with that brush - if anything part of his problem is that he's too honest!
Sell up Ashley in one foul swoop you've confirmed that you have no regard for the fans, the players or the club and have seriously mismanaged the whole affair.

Offensive? Report commentI'd rather back Keegans judgement any day rather than that of a fat cockney beer swilling layabout ,or his hirelings a dodgy casino operator and a so called Director of Football who couldn't hack it at Leeds and has all the attributes of a weasel .
Ashley can do all Geordies a big favour ,nick off from the Toon and sell the club to some outfit even if means the club being owned by oversea's interests ,so that Newcastle can compete on an even playing field with the likes of Arsenal ,Man Utd ,
Chelsea and the Scousers .
I doubt Ashley would do what has been suggested by
some and make a public statement from the centre circle prior to the kick off against Hull ,to justify the direction he is taking the club in and explain why he was prepared to sell senoir players including Owen without recruiting adequate replacements ,sounds to me that a quick exit from Newcastle is already planned .the quicker the better as far as most Geordies are concerned .

Offensive? Report commentThe problem with Newcastle is most of their fans are keegan supporters before Newcastle United, and couldnt be seen in St.James Park before keegan arrived for his first stint at management. Keegan should of called it a day when he walked away the first time.
They should leave the club to get on with there job and see what happens the money the club has given managers in the past is more than most managers will see in there whole carreers. They can always follow KK to his next club and let some of our fans get back to support Newcastle the proper loyal Newcastle fans who got there noses pushed out by the King Kev Crew first time round.
