To me it sounds like that he has not got what he wanted, so he is playing the Race card.
I hope he remembers what this country has done to him and his family,by taking him in. If he continues with the claim, I hope he pays for legal costs and not the taxpayers, who already pay his wages.
Would he get the treatment he has now from the country he did not want to stay in !!!
I served in the Met for 20years, and I can honestly say that in all that time I did not see or hear anything that I would call racism. We had a good mix of men/women & white/black officers and we most got on well together. This whole row appears to be a contrived attempt by one greedy & self opionated man to make money out of a organisation that as promoted him further than he should have been. So I say kick him into touch and get on with the job of protecting the public and restoring the good name of the service.
The issue of the race card is unacceptable in any organisation and the Metropolitan Police has contributed to this for years in allowing the police federation , the black police federation et al to exist. If I was a serving policeman , I would not care what colour skinned officer came to my aid if I was getting my head kicked in . It should be a totally united force with talent and ability the main driving force and not skin colour , gender , sexual orientation or any thing else to achieve the ultimate aim of why it exists - to serve the public.
i say its just pure greed.
