Sree is evicted
Sree has gone, and the margin was 85.44%. I'm surprised it was as close as that.
It was one of the most unrevealing interviews I've ever heard too. I can't even blame Davina. Jeremy Paxman would have had his work cut out trying to get any sense out of him. Sree was clearly rambling, didn't know what he was saying, didn't even know what he wanted to say. It was all just "personally, me" incoherent, contradictory gobbledygook.
I can even forgive Davina for dwelling on Noirin. She had to find something he could talk about.
He must have been a nightmare to live with. And he's president of his student union, too. Now I know educational standards are slipping but even so...
I'm not sure this business of not revealing the result till the 10.35 show, rather than at the end of the nine o'clock show is a particularly inspired idea. The first time it happened I assumed it was a one-off. But it's been three shows running. Are BB actually trying to tell us that it's no longer essential to watch the nine o'clock show? Because that's the message coming through.
Not to say that it was a bad highlights show, but for a programme that's going down in the ratings they are certainly making it easy for people not to watch it.
I have to say, I thought Marcus was magnificent. Okay, he definitely shouldn't have said "make me, make me" and all that "I'll see you outside, Jimmy" ( I'm paraphrasing ) stuff. But when he was picked up for mocking Sree's accent he was fully entitled to point out that people had been doing it for weeks to Freddie without being reprimanded.
What I thought was especially revealing was how much BB showed of it. There must clearly be people working behind the scenes who want this message to get out: we live in a PC world, we play by the rules, but we understand the rules themselves are hypocritical and arbitrary. And Marcus was calm. He was really sure of himself.
If BB had thought there was nothing in Marcus' defence they wouldn't have shown so much of it. But BB is terrified of Ofcom. It explains why there is no LIVE FEED. It explains why BB gave Marcus a formal warning. And it explains why Lisa and Karly have been given pep talks about their attitudes to Freddie.
Lisa and Freddie had a friendly chat yesterday morning, and it's not the first time Lisa has been taken to the diary room and given a hint about how she's being seen by the rest of us. The Lisa crew is well and truly cracked now. It would have happened anyway, but BB and the terror of Ofcom have made sure it happened even before Sree left the house.
What happens now? Lisa has a talent and a savviness that could help her patch things up. I think Karly has too. But Kris? He looks pretty settled in his contempt. Freddie got hugs from Marcus, Siavash, Noirin, and even Charlie. The ice is breaking.
One final thought: when it was first introduced I said nice things about the interview panel. But then Vanessa waded in with her ludicrousness, and things have plummeted. Last night Judi James was almost as incomprehensible as Sree himself and then there was "reality tv expert" Kelly Osbourne.
She was doing so well until Davina asked her how she thoughts Marcus would be now.
"Which one's Marcus?" asked Kelly.
I really do want to believe it was a mistake, not a genuine question.
