Angel is evicted

Heaven may be missing an Angel, and so now is the Big Brother House.

81% wanted her out, which is harsh. There were moments last night when I thought she might actually swing it, what with Freddie talking calmly about how he expected to survive. Coming from Freddie, it just about sounded reasonable rather than arrogant, but I thought it might be a little closer than that.

It was a terrible exit, though, as well as being the slowest. Why the boos?

There were even "Get Angel Out" cries. Why? Isn't BB supposed to be fun? Aren't we supposed to celebrate just a little these people who put their personalities on the line for our entertainment? It's not like she was ever nasty to anyone.

In fact, when she was allowed to get a word in edgeways, I thought she came across very well in the interview. Her dry wit and irony was lost on Davina and Anthea Turner ( Anthea Turner? Why? Who's on next week, Chris Eubank? ). So if they couldn't cope with it, it's no surprise that Kris and Sophie wouldn't get it.

The only thing I didn't understand was why Angel wanted Charlie to win.  I never really saw those two as pals. And Charlie still comes across as a charmless drone, with a permanent surly scowl on his face.

Maybe if we had the LIVE FEED, we might understand it all a bit more.

So now we're left with Freddie versus the sheep. I thought his division of the house into Sheep, Wolves, Shepherds and Individuals was fantastically perceptive. It was a great breakdown of social psychology: Marcus is a shepherd, Lisa is a wolf pretending to be a shepherd, and Kris is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Absolutely spot-on. Yet Davina didn't get it. Neither, mind, did Sophie.

That is the great thing about Freddie. He is very persistent. If he sees an injustice he quietly slides in to make his point. In fact it's the quietness that annoys. Lisa clearly hates him because he knows how to argue without raising his voice. Lisa can't do anything without raising her voice. I would still be very surprised if he won, simply because he's getting so much coverage right now and the winner usually drifts through the first six weeks without really being noticed. But he's certainly doing the donkey work for Rodrigo.

The fallout from this should make for an interesting week. Will Noirin calm down? Will Marcus calm down? Will Sree calm down? Will the sheep and the wolves twig that maybe, just maybe some of the public actually like an individual?

Stay tuned.
